Irrfan Khan and Jimmy Shergill will star with Saif Ali Khan in Bullet Raja
Tigmanshu Dhulia's forthcoming film Bullet Raja starring Saif Ali Khan will also star two of his other favourite actors namely Irrfan Khan and Jimmy Sheirgill. Bullet Raja is based on the mafia in U.P. and will be shot in the hinterland from November this year.
While Saif will be seen playing a gangster in the film, Irrfan plays a tough cop. Besides the above mentioned names, Gulshan Grover will also be seen playing a baddie in the film.
Saif Ali Khan will play a gangster and Irrfan Khan will play a cop in Bullet Raja
They're both veterans in the Hindi film industry. But somehow, actors Saif Ali Khan and Irrfan (who chose to lose the 'Khan' somewhere along the way) have never worked together in a film. Now, the two are set to share screen space in Tigmanshu Dhulia's next, titled Bullet Raja, which is based on the mafia in Uttar Pradesh.
"Tigmanshu's film will see Irrfan play the role of a tough cop, while Saif will essay the part of a local gangster. So, you will see a few confrontations between the two on-screen," says a source.
When contacted, Tigmanshu confirms the news, saying, "Saif and Irrfan will star in the film. It will go on floors this November."
To be shot in and around Lucknow, Bullet Raja ' also featuring Jimmy Shergill ' will see Saif in an action-hero part after he was last seen in the 2012 romantic-comedy, Cocktail.
Of late, there have been rumours that Saif's character in the film might share a few similarities with Langda Tyagi, his character in Vishal Bhardwaj's critically acclaimed Omkara (2006). But Tigmanshu and Saif have both denied any such occurrence.
"Though the script is set in UP hinterlands, I will play anything, but Langda Tyagi. Why would I attempt something that I have already done in the past?" Saif had reportedly said earlier.
Tigmanshu, on his part, has recently just finished shooting Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 2.
Ileana D'Cruz in Saif Ali Khan's 'Bullet Raja'?
Actress Ileana D'Cruz, who makes her Bollywood debut with "Barfi", will reportedly be seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia's "Bullet Raja" opposite Saif Ali Khan.
"Nothing has been confirmed so far but yes they are considering Ileana D' Cruz to play female lead opposite Saif in 'Bullet Raja'," a source saif.
The film's narrative will be set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh-based mafia, and it will deal with the underworld.
Ileana will also be seen with Shahid Kapoor in "Phata Poster Nikla Hero". The film goes on the floors in November.
