When Deepika Padukone moved into her palatial apartment in the tony South Mumbai area, it made headlines. For the actress, it was a proud moment indeed. But despite confirmation from our industry sources that Dippy had plonked down her own capital to buy the plush pad, there were a few niggling whispers that claimed that it was Dippy's then boyfriend Sidhartha Mallya who had generously gifted her the space.

Now, in a move that would seem to lend credence to those rumours, Dippy has shifted to her former Pali Hill residence. "Currently, Deepika isn't in Mumbai, but yes, she has shifted back to her Bandra home," a source close to the actress told us. The buzz is that the South Mumbai flat was, in fact, owned by Sidhartha and now that he and Dippy are no longer an item, she has returned the property to him.
It was just last year that the actress had insisted that she was the owner of the flat. What was a convenient location to commute to her shoots from has suddenly ceased to be Dippy's base. Her car is now parked outside her Bandra residence, sources said.
