My complete box office prediction for Ek Tha Tiger

Come to think of it, when Salman Khan was going through his bad phase (professionally) around 2008 with flops like GOD TUSSI GREAT HO, YUVRAAJ, HEROES, etc, he didn't have much of a reason to worry. His fan base was always there to support him through thick and thin, and he gained this respect with Historic, All Time Blockbusters like MAINE PYAR KIYA and HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN. Of course, he also entertained the audience in other Blockbusters too like NO ENTRY and PARTNER. So, it wasn't too much of a concern when he was churning out flops.

But, who would've ever thought that one WANTED would change his career, and how! The film was hugely accepted by the masses, and it opened the doors for him to work his way to the #1 position again in the industry. After a few flops like LONDON DREAMS, VEER, and MAIN AUR MRS KHANNA , came these films: DABANNG (All Time Blockbuster, biggest Hit of 2010), READY (All Time Blockbuster), and BODYGUARD (All Time Blockbuster, Biggest Hit of 2011, second highest grosser of all time in India as we speak).

The super-success of these films has made EK THA TIGER so keenly anticipated by one and all. Then of course came the teaser of the film, which got an outstanding response! There are certain films as we know that are called "event films", or as I like to call them "earthquake films." The last "earthquake film" (film that was so HUGE pre-release) was AGNEEPATH, and it's historic opening day proved it. Before that was RA ONE. Now of course, it's EK THA TIGER.

Let me state something right away. After READY got declared an All Time Blockbuster, whenever I thought of Bodyguard (pre-release) I only had one thing in my mind for the film: All Time Blockbuster, and that's what BODYGUARD ended up being as well. After BODYGUARD achieved that status, there has been one thing on my mind for the past year to describe EK THA TIGER: All Time Blockbuster!

Now, coming to the box office collections. It is a foregone conclusion that the opening day and opening 6 day weekend are going to be absolutely earth-shattering, record-breaking, fantabulous, mind-boggling on an all-India level. As for the lifetime collections, it will be quite interesting. The last film that had a chance of going past the lifetime collections of 3 IDIOTS and entering the 200 crore club was RA ONE, which failed to do so. All eyes are now on Salman to see if he can do it, but of course, it all depends on how much the public takes a liking to EK THA TIGER.

My box office predictions for EK THA TIGER:

Opening Day: 27 crores net

Opening 6 Day Weekend (Wed to Monday, as there is Eid holiday on Monday): 100 crore+, should be at least 120 crores net

Lifetime Collections: 180+ crores net

Overall Box Office Verdict: All Time Blockbuster

Now, let's see what this film will do for those involved!

For Kabir Khan, who had already proved his worth with the 2009 Hit NEW YORK, EK THA TIGER will be the film to cement him as a top director in the country. If Kabir has been able to combine his classy, multiplex style of directing with Salman's mass-appealing ways, then the outcome could be a lethal one that will make the film appeal to everyone on an all-India level!

For Katrina Kaif, she has been considered one of the top stars in the industry, but she has never had an ATBB or an entry into the 100 crore club yet. EK THA TIGER will change all that for her. Who knows, what if the film does reach the 200 crore mark? She will be at an all-time high! Even acting-wise, in NEW YORK many praised Katrina's acting and hailed it as one of her better performances, and knowing Kabir, EK THA TIGER should do the same for her. After this, of course, she has Yash Chopra's film, and DHOOM 3. She is at the peak of her already super-successful career!

And for the man himself: Salman Khan. What more can be said? EK THA TIGER should easily make him the undisputed number 1 star in Bollywood. It can almost give one a heart attack when they realize that after this film, Salman still has DABANNG 2 coming later this year. Heart attack because, that is another film that is expected to be earth-shatterng,record-breaking! The question that will be on everyone's mind after EK THA TIGER releases is this: can the Tiger (Salman) be tamed?

all we need to do is wait and see if its a 100 crore or 200 crore one!

salman and katrina are and after this will be the undisputed rulers of box office. Hope all goes well and the movie is actually good in content like kabir's new york was, not slap stick like ready etc. Knowing the director and all i think the movie will be good as well *fingers crossed*

The thing is that a Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer is going to make 100 crores even if the movie is rubbish...that is the star power of Salman and Kat...100 crore is a given...what everyone is waiting to see is if ETT will break the record of 3I...a diificult yet doable job...lets see what happens...

Have you seen Laapata song??? All critics to fans claimed it was one of the best Salman chemistry from recent days. You should worry because your prediction will definitely be wrong. Whether positive, mixed or negative reports - movie will become a Blockbuster. Most places has been booked out till Eid. Even in overseas. Wait for next 5 days then talk

It will definitely cross 200cr. First even I had doubts but now it'a gone. It's too popular and tickets are going so quick.
