Bollywood might have cracked
the Rs 100 crore formula, but
more than the filmmakers the
people who are making hay
when the sun shines are the
actors of these films. According
to the latest buzz, action star
Akshay Kumar has become the
highest paid actor in Bollywood
hiking his fee to Rs 40 crore, Zee
News reported.
Believe it or not, but Akki seems
to have surpassed the God of
masala flicks – Salman Khan in
terms of emoluments that the
former has been quoting for
himself for being part of any film.
After the super success of
'Housefull 2' followed by 'Rowdy
Rathore', got him back in the
game, the khiladi wants to make
the most of his "bankable" tag.
Apparently, he hiked his price to
avoid mediocre films and
filmmakers. Talking to daily, a
source said, "He knows that not
many film-makers can afford his
price. The ones who can will be
the top-notch ones. As of now,
the actor is focusing all his
energy on his home production
'Oh My God'. He is concentrating
on the home production because
he is the sole investor and profit
holder in that project."
Akshay's strategy is indicative
that from now on he wants
profits to be the prime focus.
"Barring friends like Sajid Khan,
Akshay won't compromise on his
fees," the source added.
Akshay's will be seen in 'Joker'
next. The fate of the film at the
Box Office would decide if Akki's
over the top demand should be
entertained or not. daily times
