Dimple is constantly by his bedside, daughter Rinke to fly down

Rajesh Khanna has been battling ill health for quite some time now, and according to latest reports, the former matinee idol's condition may have worsened. What is heartening to see however, is that in the autumnal star's hour of need, his family and friends are busy rallying around him, giving him all the love and attention he requires.
A close friend of the actor told Mirror, "He is hardly eating. People around him are pushing him to eat. He has gone extremely weak. Doctors are attending to him every day."
The friend revealed that Dimple Kapadia, who had separated from the star in 1984, has been by his side all through his illness. She visits him at Ashirwad, his bungalow on Carter Road, every day, to tend to him. The bungalow was being renovated for years, but since April this year, Khanna has been spending more time at the address from his heydays. "Dimple arrives atKakaji's (as Khanna is fondly called) place around 1.30 pm and does not leave before 10 pm. It is physically daunting for Dimple, but it is clear she still cares for Rajesh a lot," said the friend. And he is also very warm and receptive toward her. Recently, he even gifted his daughter Rinke Khanna a BMW. "Actually, he purchased the car from his recent earning for the TV commercial he shot. It was a very sweet gesture," said the friend.
Word is Rinke is expected to fly down from Kolkata in a day or two to be with the family. Meanwhile, daughter Twinkle, who is now six and-a-half months pregnant with her second baby, son-in-law Akshay Kumar and grandson Aarav have been offering fervent prayers at a gurudwara in the western suburbs for Khanna's recovery.
Readers may recall how ill health notwithstanding, the superstar of the 70s had taken time out to return to the screen, if only for a brief television commercial shot by adman-turned-filmmaker R Balki. And even though he was only a shadow of his former self, it was a memorable experience for all concerned, not to mention the icon's countless fans.

This one? They claimed to be childhood friends (must have meant her childhood).No idea where she went. My suspicion would be that Akshay must be supporting thefamily and FIL was clearly told to behave and set a good example to grandchildren(first part my guess, second part was in some article)

Rajesh Khanna unwell, stops food intake


Yesteryear Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna is unwell and his wife Dimple is with him, his manager said here on Wednesday.

"He is unwell, and at home. He has stopped food-intake for three to four days," the actor's manager, Ashwin said.

Khanna's actor wife Dimple Kapadia, from whom he has separated, is by his side.

"Dimpleji is continuously by his side and his daughter Rinke also visited today," the manager said.

Earlier in April, Khanna had been admitted to hospital following uneasiness and weakness.

The veteran actor, considered Bollywood's first superstar, has acted in over 150 films. Fondly called 'Kaka' by his fans, Khanna ruled the industry in the 1960s and 1970s with films like Aaradhana, Anand, Bawarchi, Raaz and others.
