When did i say vivaah wasnt appreciated? 😛...i said,, wht did it do to shahid? despite it being a blockbuster, did shahid have any benefit from tht?

Salman's position in the industry skyrocketed after dabangg...his price, his brand value, his popularity...producers were clamouring to sign him on...

Same with someone like Aamir, akshay or srk...heck even hrithik...one blockbuster, and they all were put up on a pedestral amongst the creme de la creme...

did tht happen to shahid after vivaah? ...no...he was still short on offers...he did fool n final after vivah...😆...and it was not for 2 more years that he got JWM, after which he started getting better offers..VB, YRF etc...

Now JWM was only a superhit while vivaah was a blockbuster...so why didnt shahid get all these offers and popularity after vivaah?? coz his performance wasnt memorable in tht film...he was memorable in JWM which is why people like VB took notice and signed him up for their films...

Its true that Industry did not give him due appreciation for his blockbuster status...but our junta gave him his due...you will find many fans who like his Vivah the most...

Industry did not expect Vivah to do well...I think in fact it shocked them...😛

How do you think Imtiaz approached Shahid...he must have done just after Vivah (Nov 2006) as JWM (Oct 2007) was released a year after Vivah ..which in turn got noticed by VB...see the chain reaction..😊

Nothing of ones effort goes to waste...Shahid ultimately reaped his rewards from Vivah...from Industry & from Audience...

I as his fan rate Vivah as one of his best..I know there are many others who do the same...

As for comparisons..lets not compare him with people much elderly to him..with more years in the industry & with many filmi connections...

Imtiaz wasnt even a big/established director when he approcahed shahid...he was just as much of a struggler as him, infact probably worse because he had 1 flop debut behind him...so him approaching shahid is not counted as him getting "gr8 offers" from the industry...

and as for the rest of the statements, well i dunt argue with optimism...

My point is, he fails to be consistent or cash in on any of his successful films because his choices r terrible...

Shahid...due to Vivah...has the distinction of having a Solo Blockbuster to his name just 3 years into the industry...he did his first film in 2003 as a 22 year old & got his Vivah in 2006 as a 25 year old...

Has Imran or Ranbir been able to do that 4/5 years into the industry at 28/29 years of age..inspite of all their filmi connections...bolo bolo...😛

Absolutely Nkapoor3..I was making the same point a while back...how Shahid revived the careers of his directors who were down in the dumps or had not made it into the big league...Sooraj with Vivah...Imtiaz with JWM...VB with Kaminey...

He has been a lucky charm for a whole lot of people around him...

Actually Shahid recommended Bebo for JWM to Imtiaz...before that Bebo was a flop queen with no awards in her kitty...😛

yeh im not arguing with ur constant urge to bring in saif for everything...just because i happen to be a kareena fan who likes saif...

I said salman only to emphasise the amount of difference one blockbuster can make to a person's career if they made the right choices and cashed in on it...and then i also mentioned Hrithik...who is more or less of the same generation as shahid...go figure...
