in terms of Aish... I feel like bebo suppresses her in the acting department. and Aish has a global fan base and amazing dancer with amazing grace. Which is important to have in bollywood. I love Aish in films like taal ect

I have been on this forum for almost the past 3 years, and Rani/Preity is often used to put down current actresses, saying they can never reach Rani/Preity's level. People talk of the current actress constantly, yes, but they (even the good ones like Priyanka, Kareena and sometimes even Vidya) are often put down by saying they can never reach the level of the past actress (and Rani/Preity's name is taken immediately).

I don't think Kareena has surpassed Rani/Preity's league - she is on a whole other league altogether. (Not saying better, but just different). Like I said before, Kareena seems to be like Ash, Vidya or even Kajol - who are not for any particular time, never "peaks" at any moment, never very consistent, but always "bouncing" back to top with something or the other, always in the news and media, and never feels jaded or unappealing. Rani/Preity were consistent during their reign, but fizzled out after that. Rani/Preity's roles were also different - they mainly confined themselves to the typical YRF/KJo roles (baring a few notable exceptions), and those were pretty much everything they were noticed for. Kareena's claim-to-fame roles are different, and so I am not sure if the comparison is even valid.

I don't think anyone (baring a few) is degrading Rani/Preity here. No regular member is, at least. It's just the whole obsession with Rani/Preity seems a bit ridiculous to me, when there are - and were - so many other good actresses around. Sure, Rani/Preity are good, but they played their shares of eye-candy roles too, overacted and gave horrendous performances in many movies as well (Bichchoo, most of Preity's earlier movies actually).
