hes pretty modest if u look at how much hes achieved and how less he talks abt it...he defo dosent come across as having all tht sucess go to his head.

I don't think any of the three Khan's are modest. They all come across egotistical. They try to put up a modest front but theres always a self-absorbed air about them. Especially with SRK and Salman. They also seem to operate in cliques; i.e. you have to march to their drum or you'll be ostricised.

I think Bollywood in general is built on a self-congratulatory culture. One of the things that always puts me off Bollywood as an industry is the way the actors are glorified to a god-like status. To the point that even fans will get offended if you don't stick a ji, m'am, or sir, at the end of certain actors names. This is part of the reason why so many of them are so in love with themselves. I will never understand what any of these actors have done to garner that type of respect. Well said. And @bold: Don't know about the rest but Shabana Azmi is notorious for demanding that people address Javed Akhtar as 'Javedsaab'.

About the topic: I don't think anyone in Bollywood is truly modest. IMO, showbiz consists of two types of people: the ones with a God complex (SRK, SK, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, etc.) and the faux-modest ones (Hrithik, Shahid Kapur, Aamir, Madhuri Dixit, etc). I don't think there's anything wrong in expressing your pride over your body of work if it's good, but what puts me off is both incessant narcissism and fake humility. A majority resort to kissing ass and having some sense of entitlement. Even the so-called modest ones resort to underhanded remarks about their 'arch rivals' at some point or the other and have been known to make outrageous demands.

I don't think genuine modesty is a trait you'd find too often in showbiz, let alone Bollywood.

Hrithik, Sanjay Dutt, Salman nd Aamir to some extent.
