Deepika's hot, Kat has the Khans, Sonakshi's catching up. But the Band Baaja Baaraat girl is everyone's envy...
It invariably happens that by design or default an actor suddenly finds herself standing head and shoulders above the rest of her contemporaries. Anushka Sharma is at that vantage point right here, right now. Without much manipulation, this Aditya Chopra protege has landed roles with the biggest and the best filmmakers in Bollywood.
While reams have been written about Kareena Kapoor and the Khans (Aamir, Shah Rukh, Salman) in 2011 and Katrina Kaif snagging the same Khan trio in 2012-13, Anushka has been notching up some enviable projects. She has three Khans and one Kapoor in her kitty. Check this out:
Anushka has Yash Chopra's movie with Shah Rukh Khan. She is not the interesting angle in the triangle and it's Kat who SRK's obsessed with as per the script. But so what? She's also SRK's heroine in the film. Vishal Bhardwaj chose Anushka for Matru ki Bijlee Ka Mandola when Ajay Devgn was meant to do the film and stuck to his choice of heroine when Imran Khan walked into the project.
Raju Hirani has chosen to cast Anushka opposite Aamir in his PK that goes on the floors in October. Aamir says that he never interferes in the casting of his films. But we hear that Aamir was keen on Anushka over Kareena.
There's more. Ranbir Kapoor is likely to team up with Anushka in Danny Boyle and Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet. A trade analyst says, "It looks like the odds are stacked in Anushka's favour. The year 2013 will see the big girls battling it out. Kat has Dhoom 3, Priyanka will have Krrish 3, Deepika will have Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express. But it's Anushka who the bookies have placed their bets on because from Diwali 2012 to mid-2014 she has some crackerjack projects up for release."
Something for the other girls to lose sleep over...
How some of the others are faring: After Rowdy Rathore, Sonakshi Sinha will be seen in Joker and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2 with Akshay, Dabangg 2 with Salman Khan, Son of Sardar with Ajay Devgn and Lootera with Ranveer Singh.
Katrina is in Khan mode -she has Ek Tha Tiger with Salman, Yash Chopra's next with SRK and Dhoom 3 with Aamir. Deepika's got Cocktail and Race 2 with Saif Ali Khan, Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani with Ranbir and is tipped to sign Chennai Express with SRK and an Emraan Hashmi film.
