Yep, its' very sad indeed. Last year we had a flesh eating amoeba in the lakes here...one or two people died, not sure about the count. Georgia is home to freak pathogens that rear their ugly head in the summer. This is why I refuse to go to the lakes in the summer here. I know way too damned much about parasites and bacteria to not be paranoid. Gonna stick to the ocean for now. Rather be eaten by a shark completely than bacterial death. *shudders*😒
Not sure what they are doing to the lakes or if treating with chemicals is feasible. You have to take the aquatic life into consideration too. Can't kill them all just to save us humans. Besides, a lot of people go to the lakes and only some have been unfortunate so far. Who knows...we live in a f**ked up world...where you wake up happy to go to the lake one day only to come back infected and have your limbs amputated the next. Sad indeed.
Anyway I'm out.
Later folks.
God!! *SHUDDERS* A cold chill ran down my spine as I read through your reply. My fingers are quivering. *SHUDDERS AGAIN*
I have promised myself - RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW - I AM NEVER GOING TO THE LAKES IN MY LIFE - EVER!!! I ain't going to the oceans, beaches, pools, ponds, dips, jacuzzi... nothing!! I think, from now on, I am even gonna take a shower with my clothes on. 😕
I ain't going near those dreadful water bodies anymore!! DONE! Just done, once and for all!!!
