Renee dances to Ash's tunes

Excited mum Sushmita tires herself out applauding her daughter's performance

Sushmita Sen could not contain her excitement when she saw her little daughter perform on stage at Shiamak Davar's summer camp at St Andrew's College in Bandra with kids yesterday. The actress was seen whistling and clapping at the event.

Sushmita says effusively, "I am proud of her. She is learning at such a young age. I can't get over the energy and was tired of clapping. It was wonderful to see my little Renee performing 'Kajra re'. For a while I thought she has grown so much in a couple of years."

Renee performed to 'Kajra Re', the popular Aishwarya Rai item number from Bunty Aur Babli. "She performed gracefully. She can't express herself like Aishwarya did in the song as she is only a kid. But Sush seemed to be extremely happy with what Renee did on stage. She didn't show any signs of stage fright," says Shiamak Davar who is taking personal interest in grooming all the kids attending the summer camp. On the same day, Sushmita was present to watch a stage show by physically challenged children. The students of Helen Keller Institute performed on 'Come on Raju', while a group of students in wheel chairs performed on Salman Khan's 'Just Chill'.

"Sushmita was amazed at the will power of the kids. She found it hard to believe and couldn't stop praising the kids. In fact, Renee also made friends with most of them, she is just like Sushmita. She mingles easily with people," says Shaimak.

Sushmita is a dedicated mother who would drop and fetch Renee at rehearsals. "Every year Sushmita plans out something for Renee to do in her summer vacation. She tries to involve herself in her daughter's activities. That is not always possible because of her busy schedule. At times she misses the classes. But she makes up for all the days she couldn't attend. She just couldn't believe that her daughter was performing six shows in six days," Shiamak adds.
