I don't crave for attention- Ayushmann

Newbie actor Ayushmann on the highs of being in a happy space in his life and his B-Town fundas

Fame is addictive and can get to one's head, but newbie actor Ayushmann Khurrana exuded humility warmth and an easy charm when he was in town recently.

Riding a new high after his flick Vicky Donor hit the BO, jackpot, Ayushmann is attracting a lot of attention, especially from his females fans. Is he enjoying the adulation? He says with a grin, "Not really! I just focus on my work. I don't crave for attention from girls. I was popular even when I was doing theatre in college."

A former reality contestant to veejay and now actor, it's been quite a ride for him. His latest flick was based on a sperm donation, a bold subject, hitherto not tackled in Bollywood. Was he wary? Ayushmann says, "There is a major revolution happening in Bollywood. All kinds of films are working - low budget films, parallel cinema, commercial cinema or realistic films. It is a good time for newcomers and talented actors. Bollywood is more open to new faces now."

An occasional singer, his Pani Da Rang number is a chartburner. Does he have singing ambitions too? He says, "I've been composing songs since I was in Chandhigarh. I had composed a song few years ago, but I was waiting for the right time to sing in films." He also has a flair for writing and writes "poetry and blogs. I can write poetry anywhere, while I am travelling or taking a shower." Beyond films, Ayushmann has lead a squeaky clean, no controversies kind of life. The bad news? He's taken!"I married my girlfriend of 12 years, Tahira, almost a year ago. But, life hasn't changed a bit after marriage, I am just an average 27 year old man who's living with his "best friend," he says with a smile.
