Does Religion influence your choice of Stars? - Page 2

Personally religion has never influenced my liking for a certain star. When the lights are switched off in a cinema hall only the magic of cinema matters.
But religion or regional bias does matter a lot for many people. For instance Salman has a huge support base among Muslim youth though SRK, Aamir or Saif dont enjoy the same support. Some North Indian stars like Akshay, Ajay enjoy a larger support base in Punjab and Central India regions. Nice topic btw Poppy!

I don't care man.. whoever.. should look good and act good that is it..

But as Tiny mentioned, the comments on Youtube are pure poison! And most of them are directed towards the actor's religion!

Bollywood, more or less is very broad-minded when it comes to being a Hindu or a Muslim or of any other faith!

But some perceptions do exist in the Industry too! For eg, SRK has a hindu wife and all his buddies from the industry are hindu's...Karan Johar, Yash Raj ect...hence, his big releases are always during Diwali time...a major Hindu Festival!

But Salman Khan for some strange reason has a stronger muslim image!😕 Dunno why, because I have never seen him mentioning anything remotely related to his religion on camera or print! Then how come his big releases come out during Eid? Why this religious connonation?

@Cho...🤗Region bias is something that we all have and most of us have no qualms in admitting to it! But Religion is something more sensitive and while people might harbour it in their hearts, they feel its not politically correct to admit that you like or dislike a certain actor because of his or her religion!

I don't think it has any religious significance but rather about profits to have a eid release. Salman has an image and he's making $$ out of it. I don't think he's gonna go out there and dispel any of his fan's glorified image of him. Lady Gaga has tons of homosexual fans so she plays along with it. In reality, it could be she's homophopic, who knows.

Aamir releases his movies during Christmas :P I think the 3 stars just got hold of 3 big festivals. Since SRK had diwali in his pocket, Salman went for Eid and Aamir had no option but to go for Christmas or July 4 (US independence day!!)

@Poppy I think the reason Salman is seen more of a Muslim star is because his movies release during Eid!

Poppy, I don't think Saif is religious..For me, he seems more spiritual than religious. Out of all the khans, I find Shahrukh the most religious than others.
