I would like to share a query that hardly any of today's actresses attempt a classical dance...
Like yesteryear actresses Asha parekh, Waheeda rehman, Hema malini, Sharmila tagore Zeenat, Vyjayantimala..
90's actresses Madhuri Dixit, Aishwariya, Tabu, sridevi Juhi chawla, Urmila...

These actresses did both classical and freestyle dance

But today I see all the actresses do an item number dance more of aerobics...but none want to try a hand in classical...
Is it the trend now...a good dance will be appreciated ...

That's because no one wants to see classical dance. All people wanna watch is ass and boobs jump up & down, left & right and round & round.

Yeah, I agree the trend has set like that...no scope given in film for this neither choreographer is interested...even the so called desi congs like chamelis and sheelas do acrobatics...
there is a large share of audience who appreciated classical dance and if it is executed well that too will turn thump of present...

Earlier it was really required that an actress be a good dancer too. In fact whenever a newbie wanted to join BW being a trained dancer always helped. Nowadays toh forget about dancing...'actresses' even cant act to save their lives.

I kinda agree!! Where are the actresses who can dance classical dance beautiful. I think Aishwarya is the last one. Still waiting for a new talent who can dance classical in a elegant way. Ohh well I guess isn't going to happen the taste of indian audience lol!! 😃 They want to see girl doing a chimki chamli lol shaking!! And off course non of the new actress can dance indian classical. If they do it looks wierd!! 😆

i agree with @eraser : the Youth of India at present believes in f**king all the traditional and classical gems of our country and its not in dance only...take music as well...westernized mode is on in full swing

Classical dance form has its own dignity and let it be. Emulating them in Bollywood numbers is one way of mocking it and that's what people have done.

Let the thunder thighs and hanging boobs take over the wreck
