Depends on the context. Some films, some roles and some directors bring out the best in actors, models or otherwise.

For example, Milind Soman was quite good in Agnivarsha (though he definitely did not look 16, as per the play!) and Rules, average in 16 December and almost unbearable in Tarkeeb.

Most male (and female) stars cannot/do not act in most of their movies anyway.
