It seems like every college going sees a little bit of Sid (Wake Up Sid) in themselves. The film did create beautiful nuances for this character...

@Cho,

Sid was a very well-written character...in the sense that he was very close to reality...I see a lot of Sid in my son, even though he is barely 8!

Somehow, overall for everyone it seems to be easier to identify with male characters from Bollywood than female!😕 Wonder why?

Aww popppy ..Only 8 and you see sid in him...haha! When I was watching that movie, it reminded me of my elder brother and how he is so laidback in everything in life..Gosh! I need to show this movie again to him so that he gets the point..☺️

Well ya...he is like Sid...he talks about giving him 'space' and how we (my husband and I) don't understand him...whatever that means!😆 He is always trying to act grown-up and independent...but needs atleast half a dozen cuddles everyday and is such a baby otherwise!

And just like Sid, even he thinks that studying is a royal waste of time and that no good ever came out of doing Maths Problems!😕😆

My worry is that Sid probably gave his parents sleepless night only when he was 20...my lad is just 8!😭😆

Btw, I loved Ishaan's character from TZP...😊 I have met lots and lots of children like him...there were not dyslexic...but they too suffered from the malady called 'parental pressure'...the only other child character who really touched my heart apart from Ishaan was Rahul from Masoom...

Its heartwarming to see how bollywood gets it right sometimes...creating characters who are so close to life...and then ofcourse we have things like 'Dr. Dang' and Mogambo (I love him, btw!) and SRK's numerous versions of Raj, which IMO, is the most unrealistic and annoying lover ever created!😆

One character that comes to mind immediately is Joel from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He's calm, quiet, relaxed, introvert, shy, aloof, dreamy, creative and somewhat romantic - I think I can relate myself with many of these traits at times. Somehow watching Jim perform the role reminded me of myself.
Not that I think very highly of the movie, but his stellar performance makes this one of my favorite film characters ever.

I swear like a sailor in real life, especially when I'm driving and some dickhead cuts me off or drives like a moron. My mom threatens to put soap into my mouth if she's in the car. 😆Is there any character in hindi movies that does that?Can't remember. 🤔
