Vikram I wholeheartedly agree with you. Rockstar was a horrendous depiction of a rock star - and for everyone who keeps going on and on about how it was actually a love story - it was an even worst depiction of love. Literally godawful. Nargis should quit and move out of india to save us all the torture - seriously. And WHAT chemistry? There was no chemistry between the two.

How the f**k can I be expected to buy into a movie if the two leads lack chemistry, and the heroine emotes like an idiot. Not to mention giant fail on Imtiaz's part. What kind of moronic script was that? So many loopholes, it barely made any sense. I thought the music was good (not Rahman's best but still one of the best albums of 2011) and the cinematography was great. I'd say Ranbir's performance was well done too. I don't know what sort of rockstar he was playing, but for what the script demanded he pulled it off quite well.

In all honesty though even Katrina would resemble Tabu in front of Nargis's craptastic 'Heer'.

Memorable scenes that capture the terribleness of this film perfectly:

- Ranbir BREAKING INTO Heer's house to say goodbye to her (W*F?)

- The complete absence of documenting how Jordan suddenly became known all over India before even giving one valid concert - like they literally JUST flew him to Prague.

- Any face Nargis made throughout the film to depict emotion

- Heer's sister calling out to Ranbir in the middle of a concert about Heer's health -_-

that bothered me the most. I was trying to figure out what was wrong with her. I thought she had down syndrome or something all of a sudden. The film was chopped very badly. the girl that is interviewing him all of a sudden wants to know his story and then the random reason they kicked him out of the house because of some poor money issue. Heer screaming how he ruined her life by breaking into his house and then the police out of nowhere😆 and she starts screaming. her acting was so terrible

Ranbir was screaming like a girl and he actually managed to look like an actual terrorist. I know most vocalists in bands have long hair and they wear weird clothes, and mostly all of them wear same type. skinny jeans/long hair/ v-neck's. but this was beyond my knowledge. Imatazi was trying to be smart.

The plot that you need to go through pain to become a good artist was really dumb.

Sry to say, i loved the movie. Story was touching. Ranbir was his best. Music was the best out of the entire 2011 albums.

This movie was such a disappointment for me! I couldn't feel anything for the characters, I felt like it gave the vibe of being a passionate, intense love story..but it didn't live up to that! Nargis was beyond HORRIBLE!!

I have to agree. I watched the movie for the first time last weekend (it was on Star Gold) and completely disliked it. The first half was okay but it was the second half where everything went downhill.

I tried watching Ra1 and Rockstar on TV. Both were at the same level for me. I couldnt go beyond the first half hour. Only RK's scenes were tolerable till the point I saw. But the so called love story was so stupid. These days every film heroine wants to live life to the fullest before her wedding to someone else with the hero. LAK, MBKD and Rockstar followed this concept. If you feel you will not be able to be yourself and pretend to be someone else all your life why marry that guy in the first place? And I dont understand how Nargis is being called beautiful. She looks ugly with her weird lips. She looked bad in Rockstar and horrible in her Parachute hair old ad. She has zero screen presence. Acting ko toh chod do!
