Why did my topic on this disappear?

Edit: Oh I see, they put it together with this one, its on the previous page!

But shouldn't the topic which was opened first stay? Sometimes people make a topic, no one comments and then someone else makes the same post hours/days later and people comment. I think the latter one should be combined with the first when that happens. I guess it's hard to keep track though...

Anyway, when no one commented on my post and it disappeared, first I thought people hated it, then I though Amitabh Bachchan deleted it because he wants to be the first to announce 😆

Burcidi... Your thread was merged with this thread bcoz the news was already posted here yesterday and also a denial abt the name was also posted here... I did not want your thread to be locked bcoz couple of members had commented there so i just moved all the posts into this existing thread...

Regarding your second question, Normally thats what we do... We do merge the new thread with the existing old one... As long as reports are there abt it that its a duplicate thread we look into it and merge it... Sometimes even w/o reports we notice it and we end up merging them... Sometimes if there are no reports and we don't notice them then their could be a chance of them getting overlooked bcoz it was not bought to our attention...

There have been rare cases when the new thread had reached many pages like more than 5-6 and those times we just let go bcoz it does get tedious to go to each of the 40 posts and move them individually to the existing thread... As long as its less than a couple pages we try our best to move them to the existing one...

I agree with you... Its hard to keep track... If you see that a new thread is opened inspite of a existing one then just PM one of us or hit the report and we will merge them...

Wait. IF admin/mods don't have the option to directly merge threads like there is in say, vBulletin? You have to move the individual posts?

No we don't... 😒

We have to go to each post and click the move option and that opens up another window and and there we have to select Bollywood forum and then click next and then that takes us to a scroll down where we have to go look at the name of the existing thread and once we find that thread we hit the move post option... And we repeat the same process for each post that has to be moved... I with they had a option to move the entire thread rather than this way...

While fans of Bachchan family are wondering and guessing about the name of little princess, here comes a surprise. Shobhaa De the famous author has tweeted in her social networking site that Aishwarya Rai's Baby is to be named as 'Abhilasha' which creates a link between the parents titles 'Abhi & Ash'.
But still official confirmations are made from the Bachchan's side. Some sources say that the Baby's name would start and end with 'A' and that seems a good revelation.

New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan has denied the media reports that the new born daughter of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai has been given the name 'Abhilasha'. He said this while responding to a fan on micro blogging site twitter.

Bachchan replied," no media is wrong .. name not selected yet," when a fan tweeted him," Sir, I keep hearing a name for BetiB in media. If it is true, I suggested that name. I feel on top of the world."

The Bachchan family has not released any photo of the baby yet and the media keeps referring to the baby girl as 'Beti B'.

I bet you that the Bachans are secretly releasing names just so they can get a public response and see what people like and don't like...

And it is ridiculous to take this long to choose a name, it's not like her destiny and future success is going to lie solely on the meaning of the name, bachans superstitious beliefs are stupid and pointless, Absheik obviously hasn't benefited from it...
