Why is Priyanka Chopra doing meaningless roles?

For an instant, if we give maafi to Priyanka Chopra for Saat Khoon Maaf, we realize that this actress, who is capable of pulling off good roles, is increasingly doing itsy bitsy ones. Now, is it to gain a few hits in her career or is she not getting offered good roles where she can explore her talent? This is something we will try to figure out here.

If we take a quick glance at what she did last year, you will find that apart from Saat Khoon Maaf, Priyanka didn't have any worthy roles to play in the later movies. In Don2, she played the tough cop who's after Don but also harbours a soft spot for him. Before the release of the movie, a lot was said about her stunts that she performed on her own to the point that there were rumours of Farhan Akhtar intending a Kill Bill type movie with her. But when Don 2 released, people were left searching for that one killer stunt by Priyanka that made Farhan think so.
Priyanka then followed it up with an equally minor role in Agneepath (Agneepath Movie Review) which could have been done by anyone. In fact, she should have left this role for some lesser known actress whose career could have jumpstarted by this. Though her small role was amusing, one can't discount the fact that it was too short.
So the question is why is she taking up such petty roles when she can do better? We disagree that she isn't getting offered good roles otherwise Saat Khoon Maaf won't have happened. We can only think of one reason. Although critically acclaimed, Saat… died at the box office. Guess witnessing such a failure, Priyanka wants to stay away from author-backed roles and is happy doing such trivial appearances. But then we can't blame Priyanka for this. Bollywood may be glamorous but it is also hideous. An actor's talent is measured by the hits he or she has delivered and hence, Priyanka too is playing it safe before getting subjected to such mediocrity.
Well Priyanka, we think you deserve better. We don't say we didn't like you in these movies, but we expect more from you. Don't let the twisted notions of the industry exploit your talent!
