This still makes me mad. When anyone from the industry bashes Slumdog for the reason that a westerner showed "this" side of India argument--I literally cringe. At least have legit criticisms like the performances weren't good, the script was weak, etc.etc.

However, reality is also important. Big B needs to watch the WHOLE film as an unbias ACTOR and not father too. Players was not some Italian Job in terms of performances or story and definitely a Mission Impossible in terms of stunts or special effects.

Honestly, Abhi does a stellar job of dealing with bashers. In a recent interview he spoke of how criticisms and bashing tones down the ego and gives actors a reality check and hes all for it. Even his responses on tweeter are so graceful. He's doing a fine job and Big B should let him carry his own and deal with the criticisms. All these Bollywood fathers being over-protective of their off-springs.

I don't see Tom Hanks jumping to Colin's rescue when his films flops-let them make their own flops and let them learn and this goes out to the Bachchans and the Kapoors.

Thats why i like how Papa Roshan conducts himself... He lets his son fight his own battles..

But masala bhi achhi honi chahiye na. If masala is bad so it will be called bad.

I agree abt unprofessional reviewers who are just like the stars and have a big head hehe!

arre yaar .. ye to hamesha ka rona hai ... everytime an Abhishek Bachchan movie releases, media starts critcizing his acting talent and Sr. B starts defending him and going gaga all over him. Why don't they leave it to the audience. aren't we the ones who are supposed to decide if a movie/actor is good or not?
And c'mon abhishek has done more than 2 dozen movies by now and most of them have been flops with really bad acting. Sr. B being such an experienced actor should be the first to notice the gaps in abhishek's performance. are parents just supposed to go all out and get involved in mudslinging or are they required to teach the right thing to their kids?

I guess it is Sr. B's ego and being-the-all-powerful-celeb attitude that is costing Abhishek his career. If Bachchan parivaar just leaves Abhishek to do his job well, then maybe he'll improve or call it quits if he cannot tolerate all this anymore. Why to put the poor guy through so much stress and public mockery.

Even Rakesh Roshan used to go all out protecting his son when films started flopping post KNPH and HR started getting written off. But yes he backed off I think post KMG after which HR fought his own battles and did well by patching up with 'rivals' like SRK.

This man seriously needs to get off social sites. He is making people start to hate him. All these actors/actresses need to understand they are only loved unconditionally when there is a mysterious aura around them. The reason people give them so much adoration is because of the on screen characters they portray. I seriously doubt AB Sr would have ever managed to become Big B if all these social sites were invented back when he had just started out. His personality is a big turn off Whereas on the other hand AB Sr is a sweetheart in real life but he cannot be accepted because he has no on screen presence or talent. Such nainsaafi
