Paresh Rawal refuses to return signing amount

A disorganized producer is learning the hard way that actor Paresh Rawal is no doormat to be walked over. The producers behind Lucky Star Entertainment apparently went to Rawal and signed him for a forthcoming film that they said would star him, Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. Ever since Hera Pheri became a hit, several producers have come up with projects with the trio cast in mind. Not many projects have come through though. Neither did this one. Anyway, Paresh was paid a sum of Rs 4,50,000 apparently and the producers took the requisite dates from him. Naturally, once these dates were given to these producers, Paresh had to reschedule his programme with other producers. Now these chaps have cancelled the project because the other stars couldn't give them dates, and want their money back. But Rawal is not coughing up the dough. No way. Instead, he has written to the Cine and TV artistes association explaining his reasons for not wanting to do so. Well, looks like another producer-actor battle is about to begin.
