The original song Kombadi palali is sung by Vaishali Samant, who's also known more for softer no.s but Kombdi palali became a classic. By taking Shreya in the hindi version Ajay-atul are trying to create the same spice. This hindi Composition could have been a lot better I feel, anyway Shreya's sung it really well.

Only a few days ago, we warned that you would be blown away by the mother of all item numbers. The people associated with the song had hinted as much, saying it was a visual treat. But after we had a two-minute dekho of the song today, we've changed our mind. Chikni Chameli is not just a visual treat; it's OUTSTANDING.

Oomph, jhatkas and alluring… Katrina Kaif has never looked this hot before. It's a folk song with a tune that's so catchy, you automatically hum along. Yes, Kaif's expressions and her jhatkas have made this into one memorable number.

Sone pe suhaga, Sanjay Dutt, who's playing Kancha Cheena, and Hrithik Roshan, who's playing Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in Agneepath, are also part of the song. Dutt's crude expressions and the way Jr Roshan's appears in the song are praiseworthy. Full marks to Kaif for turning this item song into the best-ever to date.

Move over Sheela and Munni, here comes Chikni Chameli!

I am worried that this version will not catch on the way Kombdi Palali did...

and fair enough, KP is a very regional song, don't really know if it has room in mainstream Bolly..

I love Ajay and Atul but I wish they'd stop being sell-outs... Kombdi Palali is their PRIDE, and I hate how they're simply giving the tune away to another song, just because it'll be in a big movie, with a big actress dancing to it.

They'll kinda de-value the fact that they created Kombdi Palali.

oh well.
