Excerpts from the interview: He wanted someone with simple as well as glamorous look. He wanted a girl who would carry off sans any make-up and who could give ample date. I have played this kind of role in 'Gadar' and 'Mangal Pandey'. So, I fit the bill. What role do you play in the film? I play the role of a mute girl in the film, and so, I learned sign language for the role. You know, I took tuition from Sangita, who trained Rani for 'Black'. Was it tough to play the role of a mute girl? It is a challenge to do something different and it's not easy either. So, role of a mute girl is challenging. Only hard work can pay. I took up 'Gadar' as a challenge, as I haven't completed doing 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' at that point of time. People told me not to take up 'Humraaz', as it had negative shade but I took it up as a challenge. And 'Teesri Aankh' is no different. What is 'Teesri Aankh' all about? It is a strong film with a social message. It talks about the misuse of technology by man and how innocent people suffer. It deals with social issue, and so, I decided to take up the challenge. Could you tell us something about your co-stars?
What is your opinion on hidden camera? I genuinely feel it is bad. It is wrong to invade the privacy of a person. People who are misusing MMS and video clips should know that their turn also would come someday. One has to think twice before falling prey to this greedy idea. |
