Mumbai Mirror hit Film City, Goregaon to get you all the dope from Madhur Bhandarkar's much anticipated project Heroine. Bereft of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan now, it is starting afresh with Kareena Kapoor in Ash's shoes and its leading man Arjun Rampal.

The day's agenda involved shooting Kareena and Arjun being shot by ace lensman Dabboo Ratnani. Accompanied by his wife and elder daughter, Ratnani was his usual animated self.

Mid-afternoon, Kareena stepped out of her vanity van in an uber sexy silver-n-black number and made jaws drop. And that is exactly when we realised that the girl who initiated India to the concept of size zero, isn't that size anymore. Kareena, who has regained some of her original weight, looked voluptuous in the dress.

Discussing her curvy look, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, who has designed 130 outfits for her in Heroine, gushed, "Isn't she looking hot, hot, hot? That's how a woman should look. That's how an Indian heroine should be."

As for Kareena herself, the first day of the shoot saw the actress in great spirits. "I know this role will leave me exhausted. But I think I was destined to be the leading lady in Heroine. It is a pleasure to work with Madhur who has a knack of churning out very engrossing stories," said the excited actress.

The clock turned five. And it was time to roll. With her signature hair-flick, Kareena was ready to enter the spotlight. Ratnani was ready 'click'. And Bhandarkar called 'action'. After a few shots, though the director called for a 'cut' Ratnani was not done. Yet. Explaining the scene, Bhandarkar said, "I have started off today with a photo shoot, which is a part of the film.

Kareena who plays a superstar in it, is shooting for a photo shoot being done by Daboo. After this, she will continue the photo shoot with Arjun."

5.15 pm, Rampal arrived in a white shirt. Lit a cigarette. Exhaled. Looked at his watch. And we could hear a female onlooker sighing (not too softly) "Man, he looks a dish."

Meanwhile Kareena rushed back to her vanity van and locked herself up. Waiting for his heroine, Rampal revealed, "I love Kareena. We are seeing each other in the film. I play a superstar in the film. We got along after We Are Family. This role is tailor made for her."

One hour down, and we were still waiting for Kareena to alight from the vanity van. "Time lagega. Madam new hairstyle banva rahi hai," explained an unit member.

We spotted Divya Dutta sitting outside Kareena's vanity van. "I play Kareena's PRO," she explained rather sheepishly.

Kareena emerged in a sexy black gown. And then started photoshoot part 2. Time to get cozy with Rampal. After a few shots, a not-so-pleased Bhandarkar yelled, "Guys, I want more intensity." And the actors start laughing. Loudly. With a lot of intensity. As for Madhur, he goes for another take.

Photoshoot part 3: Kareena in a grey dress. Hot. Change into a pinkish-red gown. Hotter. And then Rampal adds to it by running his hand through her tresses.

By this time, we have a fair idea of what to expect from Bhandarkar's dream project. And we can't wait. Shot over. Kareena decided to tell us about her co-star. "Arjun is a wonderful guy. He and Saif were friends even before they entered films," Kareena said. 8.45 pm.

We left the set. So, is Bhandarkar relaxed, now that his film is finally on the floors? He says, "Oh yes, I partied, slept, went to Siddhi Vinayak. I can't think of anything now except Heroine."
