For all you Bollywood buffs who are fascinated by movie trivia, television channel Sahara One has a unique offering for you. The channel has launched a new show NG Takes (NG stands for No Good) that not just talks about interesting factoids relating to films but practically showcases them to you on the small screen. As a part of its show, NG Takes will show scenes from blockbusters that you never came across on the final edited version of the full-length movies. Some extensive research has gone into the making of the show and sourcing of the exclusive content that it offers.

Ok, so all of you have watched Sholay, and infinite times. But there still are scenes from the movie that you never came across on the big screen since those were edited from the final prints of the film. The first episode of NG Takes shows these very scenes of Sholay that you missed out till date. What better way to flag off a movie show than with a Sholay. And we at IndiaFM exclusively bring out these very scenes to you.

The first scene was deleted from the original film. The scene is an extension of that scene when actor Sachin (who almost qualified for a child artist then) in shown leaving the Rampur village and heading towards the city to get work. While the scene in the movie was edited at the point when Sachin is presented before Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan), the complete scene shows Gabbar commanding the feeble Sachin to rub his nose on the ground in front of him and on his own will. When Sachin refuses with self-respect, Gabbar tortures him to death. This outrageous scene framed from the angle of barbecued chicken, was chopped off for the use of some heavy language and gruesome violence, which might appear acceptable today but was much against its times in those days.

The second scene was the concluding scene of the movie that was later changed to a revised climax. This scene shows Thakur (Sanjeev Kumar) killing Gabbar Singh. And this is the only scene when the audiences get to see the strong-hearted Thakur who never shed a tear in the entire movie despite losing everything, bursting into tears on Veeru's (Dharmendra) shoulders. The censors objected to the scene saying that Thakur (who played a retired police officer in the film) killing Gabbar undermined the rule of law and could adversely influence young minds. So the climax was re-shot showing the police arriving at the last moment and arresting Gabbar.

NG Takes is produced by Deepti Bhatnagar who is known for her tourism shows on foreign destinations (Musafir Hoon Yaaron) and sacred places (Yatra). The supremely talented comedian Suresh Menon will host the show.
