Coming from a family with musical background, Micky Narula surely has the upper hand over others. But it would not be easy to come out of the shadows of his brother Jaspinder Narula, a famous Punjabi singer and his father K.S. Narula who is a noted music director. He fell in love with Sufi music from the very beginning, and now, he has come out with a new album titled '"Ranjhan Yaar". The 16th and 17th Century Sufi singers who used to dress in blue inspired this album.

The new album has eight Sufi songs composed and sung by Micky. He said that the album reflects his spiritual life. He added that it is based on the famous love-fable of Heer-Ranjha with the music addressing the Almighty. The album also depicts pious love and no tress of candyfloss romance is found. Micky also said that they have used an Arabic instrument called oodh in the album, which is probably used for the first time in Indian music.

Meanwhile, he is against distortion of music that has become common in today's music scenario. He said that today's video-music albums are for the eyes and not for the eyes. He added that people should come out with more music that is beyond physical existence. Besides music, he has two Hollywood films on hand namely 'Gold Bracelet' and 'My Nanaji's Wedding' and another Pakistan film 'Dil Se Dil Tak'.

The singer's two songs "Yaar Mera" and "Ranjhan Yaar" stars fashion designer Vijaya in its video version. Vijaya has earlier designed for the film 'Apaharan' and is now looking forward to act and design in more Bollywood films.

Here is food for the soul from Micky.
