I want to work with Kareena, but not as brother: Rajat Barmecha

'Udaan' lead actor Rajat Barmecha doesn't mind being tagged as 'cute' by his female fans and says he is keen to work with Kareena Kapoor, but not as her younger brother.

'I don't mind being called cute. I don't force myself to look like a dude. I know I am cute and I am not looking for an image change,' Barmecha, 21, told IANS.

'Even Imran Khan is termed as cute and when he tried to change his image with 'Kidnap' or 'Luck', it didn't work. So I believe there will be some roles in the industry to suit my age and looks,' he added.

Though, Barmecha doesn't have any personal favourites in Bolywood, he would love to meet Salman Khan.

'I like Salman Khan as a person. I would like to meet him and may be work with him as well. And Kareena Kapoor, I would love to work with her, but please, not as her younger brother,' he added.

Set in Jamshedpur, 'Udaan' is the story of Rohan (Rajat), a teenage boy, who returns home after eight years and finds himself closeted with an authoritarian father and a younger half brother, who he didn't even know existed.

A story about a father-son relationship, 'Udaan' is Rohan's journey, who is forced to work in his father's steel factory and study engineering against his wishes, as he strives to forge his own life out of his given circumstances to pursue his dream of becoming a writer and leaves his house to chart his own course.

Are you listening, Kareena? I think it would be interesting. I hope she starts taking up different non-run of the mill masaala films and roles after 2012, when she'll be done with "films with all the Khans" and have shored up hits.

I'm not saying she has to take only such films, but throw in something interesting once a year. One way to ensure longevity is to work with the young-uns who WANT to work with you. If you think about it, that's how the actors part of how the actors survive; they get older, their hetoines stay the same age. Whatever knew star actress comes up, the actors are paired up with her.

Two actors I really want to see opposite her: Ali Zafar (and yeah I know he's not in the young category I mentioned above), and after reading this interview, Rajat Barmecha

That was two years ago, he's a bit more matured now and in another two years will be rid of the teenaga looks. It's not a bad thing per se for him, he was able to play a 16-year-old while he was 20. .

Like I said though it will take him another two years to mature into his looks. (Though even now, pictures don't actually do his looks justice. He looks much better in motion.) And when I say work opposite these actors, it doesn't have to be as a romantic lead. As I said, I want her to do non-masaala non-mainstream films after 2012. Those are what's always gotten her the critical acclaim, and she can actually show her abilities.

haha from the likes of her recent interviews and strategy, she won't touch non A-listers

would be a really cute pairing though. and if she DID this, she'd throw a huge "HAHA" at every old actor who star opposite young girls, saying "itrna mat, main bhi kar sakti hoon"

And yet, that's where the talent lies.

But as for it not happening for a while (if ever), yeah I know. I'm just sitting here hoping and telling myself 2013 is pretty long from now. 😆😍

Vidya Balan will probably do it before Kareena, and will surely gain further foothold and longevity because of it.
