Lata Mangeshkar to be felicitated in Nash

The felicitation function has been jointly organised by local news channel ''C-News'' and the social organisations -- ''Snehband'' and ''Pravasi Interntaional Academy''.

The melody queen will be felicitated at the hands of noted Marathi writer Ram Shewalkar, C-News editor Shrikant Beni and Snehaband president Jaiprakash Jategaonkar told a joint press conference.

C-News, which is celebrating its fourth anniversary, has organised a three-day programme commencing January 26 in conjunction with the other two organisations. Lata Mangeshkar's felicitation is a part of the programme. Latadidi, as the melody queen is popularly known, would herself be felicitating kins of martyred soldiers and police personnel from Nashik district on the occasion.

A cultural programme will be hosted on January 27 which will include a ''Laughter Challenge'' show by Jai Channariya. On the final day, social organisations working for the blind and physically disabled would be honoured with ''Nashik Gaurav'' awards.
