Is Ayan Mukerji playing matchmaker to Ranbeer Kapoor and Deepika Padukone?
It seems that filmmaker Ayan Mukerji is leaving no stone unturned to bring back the lost chemistry between his film actors, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
Sources say that he's conducting a series of 'personal meetings' of Ranbir and Deepika at his house to ensure that they are completely comfortable in each other's companybefore they start shooting for the film.
"There has been lot of bad blood between Ranbir and Deepika when they were breaking up. They have now realised that a lot of the negativity was engineered and that none of them had a role to play in it. Both are now determined to be good friends which initially was the case before they started dating," says a source.
Interestingly, Ranbir's rumoured former girlfriend Katrina Kaif was supposed to do the film, but she opted out because of date problems. "Deepika had never worked in a Karan Johar production and she was willing to do the film at any cost. Moreover, with Rana (with actor Rajinikanth) getting delayed, she had dates too on her hand. She was happy when the film was offered to her," the source adds.
With the meetings, Ayan apparently will allow Deepika and Ranbir to spend time together so that they can thrash their issues and become close again.
"They need some time together — where Deepika can laugh at Ranbir's jokes, andRanbir will be at ease perhaps to make an omlette for her, the way he used to earlier.
Unless they don't recapture their chemistry, it will be impossible to portray the two in love on screen. Their body language needs to be comfortable and that is exactly what Ayan's hoping to get. Ranbir and Deepika are also open to the idea," said the source.
