Small films are big disasters
Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, August 16, 2011]

Writing was clear on the wall for 'Chala Mussaddi - Office Office', 'I Am Kalam' and 'Warning' on the opening Friday itself with near nil occupancy greeting each of them. None of the films could gain even respectable collections for themselves and struggled to complete a week at the box office.

'Chala Mussaddi - Office Office' was the better of the lot but the film's first week folded under 2 crores mark hence ensuring that this Pankaj Kapur starrer had hit the point of no return. As for 'I Am Kalam' and 'Warning', even the combined collections couldn't reach the 2 crores mark. Though the makers of 'I Am Kalam' claim that the film has recovered its costs, the fact remains that theatrically the film is a big letdown.

Such poor box office reception to each of the three films meant that 'Singham' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' continued to have a field day. While 'Singham' collected over 12 crores in it's third week and now stands at over 86 crores, 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' has now accumulated 83 crores in four weeks. Between the two films 'Singham' will now most definitely cross the 90 crores mark and should eventually come close to 95 crores. However 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' would fold up under 90 crores. Still, these two films are now the biggest successes of the year after 'Ready' and have kept the Bollywood flag flying high.
