Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's directed 'Rang De Basanti' faced protests from the Indian Air Force for showing the IAF and defence ministry in bad light. Yesterday the news created a stir that IAF has objected to the illustration of MIG fighter aircrafts in bad light. The aircraft has been depicted as 'accident prone and vulnerable'. Defence Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee was supposed to see into the matter. The controversial scenes were supposed to be deleted if the impact in them was found to be susceptible. However the Censor Board has already cleared the film. But now the cast, crew and the fans can be rest assured that the film will be releasing in the due date only. The film has been cleared now of the controversy and top officials of the Indian Air Force on Tuesday arrived at the conclusion that there was no derogatory reference to the IAF in the film. They also appraised it saying that it is a very good film. The film is free from all prejudices and can be released accordingly. Air Marshal P S Ahluwalia said this after a special screening of the film for the defence ministry. Madhavan plays a pilot in the film and he dies in a MIG crash. His character is inspired from the story of Flying Officer Abhijit Gadgil who was killed in a MIG crash two years back, for which the faulty machinery was to be blamed. |
