Aishwarya cancels her award due to Mumbai blasts

Aishwarya was supposed to receive the second biggest award in France, the prestigious Officer Dan Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres yesterday. Half way through the ceremony when the news of the Mumbai attack came, Aishwarya requested the French government to call off the awards ceremony for now and sent her condolences to the families of the victims. Wise of her to do that. And she spoke very well.

I'm confused. Were these awards supposed to be out of India( in France) in the future? Or is she at the awards function right now and cancelling it as we speak?

baba kyaaa publicity hai... tsk tsk.. wat was the need of a press conference there if she didnt go people are busy in their griefs doesnt make any difference to anyone if she doesnt go to the awards.. now thats wat we say mauqe ka faida uthana..

Yea...I think its either a publicity stunt or damage control too. Which is why I'm not sure why she is at the stage of the award ceremony postponing the awards??

Wouldn't it have been more prudent if she had sent them a message? What is the timeline here?

i knoww...its just a publicity stunt..🤢 or the damage control as u say she would be scrutinized that how aishwariya was revieving awards when mumbai was burning or something like that..😕 but my gut feeling says publicity stunt.. once u were on the stage getting the award take it and go back to ur country..

nitu: yeaaahhh maybeee.. but there was no need.. if she was really sincere she would have done that quietly no need to publicize everything..

Dex, I THINK ARB found out about the blasts when she was already at the event. Both happened Wednesday evening, no? Her event was taking place in New Delhi, that's where they were when they found out about the blasts in Mumbai, according to her FIL's Tweets.
