Excerpts from the Interview: This is for the second time you're working with Aparna Sen. How was the experience? We've worked together in 'Mr & Mrs Iyer' and this is the second time we get together. Between both the films there were things that were similar and some that were different. What remained the same was Aparna Sen's deftness on creativity, her inception about what she wanted from the film and also her expectations from her actors. You didn't mention the things that changed? Over the two films we've turned very good friends and also understand the demands that we've one another professionally. So the comfort level is more this time than the last. She would shout formerly on my bad shots and would keep quite on the good ones because when directors work for the first time with an actor they don't demonstrate their appreciation openly. But this time Aparna displayed her admiration truly and honestly. What is the best thing you like about working with her? Well I respect her as a human being and director. I've great reverence for her in my heart. We had our shares of fights and arguments while working in this film too. But that's only because we're so comfortable with each other. In this film you got a chance to work with Shabana Azmi.
Which film did you enjoying working more - Mr & Mrs Iyer or 15 Park Avenue'? Content wise I enjoyed working in Mr & Mrs Iyer more. In this film there is Waheedaji, Shabana, Konkona and Shefali Chhaya, who steal the show and I don't get the big share of drama. In midst of the gorgeous ladies it's very obvious to find yourself lost. But I really enjoyed working more here. I have a wonderful role in the film but I only come in the second-half. |
