i used to teac h kids at church...5 year olds and below..they have called me aunty ever since i was 16...

to me it doesnt matter..but if somebody thinks it was derogatory, oh well it wasnt meant to be

@star_no_1😆 👏 I remember her in hum paanch with that hearing aid 😆She started a tad bit late in bollywood but nobody in the industry seems be to concerned about her age so good for her. She is does not play nubile young forver 18 yo characters thankfully. Almost all her recent roles have been of women close to her age or even older than her. @caro - I would get so upset when I was in high school and this little kids would call me aunty - I would bribe them to call me akka that was more digestable.My young cousin tho bribes my son to call her by her name these days.

My cousins in India call all their lady teachers as "Aunty" instead of Ma'am or Ms. So-and-so. But all the male teachers are called "Sir". Chauvinism is ingrained from early age - any lady over 16 runs the risk (or has the honor) of being called an Aunty.

In India anyone over 20 is referred to as an aunty sometime or the other...I have heard 16 year olds call a 20 year old person as an aunty....Big deal...
