Well! I like versatility even if actors fail. I have the option to appreciate and criticize. Frankly, I was never bowled over by Anushka. I thought she was terrible in Badmaash Company but loved her in BBB. I watch commercial bollywood for various reasons and if I had to choose good actors then I would choose Kay Kay Menon and Chitrangada Singh. Being good among mediocre is no big feat, at least not for me. If a Saif Ali Khan can make it and get appreciated now then many in mainstream Bollywood can. That's my opinion.

If Anushka said all this (no direct quotes from her) then it does seem to be an attempt to draw attention to her because even after so many hits somehow she isn't in the news as other newcomers because she lacks charisma. Better PR skills are important to stay in the news and she realized it now and finally caught up with rest of the newcomers.

@ Maya... i don't think lack of charisma is the thing coz of which she wasn't getting attention.. it was just that her pr wasn't hyperactive.. Anushka has the x factor to carry a movie.. without any a lister.. i am glad her PR is finally pushing her.. when a lot of movies that YRF attempted with Rani.. with Deepika and with others failed.. Anushka with help of BC and BBB was able to help them out.. no wonder they trust her completely.

i think vidya can carry a film without an a lister starring opposite

i def. dont think anushka is on par with vidya

i failed to like her in PH, didnt like BC, BBB was okie-dokie, her in RNBDJ was promising but not all that. i liked deeps debut role more in OSO 😆

(aiynvi aiynvi was rocking!! watched the movie just for the song in fact)

but as sum1 said she is still fairly new and im sure she will get better & better with each film.

once she gets a good strong role & film behind her then act snobby

not before. 😳

esp. with the media. act snobby with them and they wont waste time in ripping u apart

now dont pick on me but in JWM i thought that kareenas character was over the top & shahids character was underplayed but somehow it seemed to work

as far as i can tell PH is similar, anushka's character was over the top and akki's underplayed

but i felt anushka was overacting her over the top character 😆

(this i got from the promos, they were everywhere. trying to find the film to watch)

Vidya is super amazing. I like her a lot. she was great in Ishqiya. also, that song dil toh bachcha hai ji is amazing. she was great in no one killed jessica. rani=she went top of her head with screaming.

exactly. vidya carried the film NOKJ

yet its rani who's head got swollen to triple its size & plastered on gazzilions of random mags 😆

LG: Everybody in this business has PR. Many actors actually have same PR agency. Looking at her relationship news and acerbic comments, I think Anushka now shares Deepika and Sonam's combined PR.

Jokes aside, I do think that she lacks charisma. She had a dream debut with SRK and YRF, still no awards and hardly in the news. Her PR did churn out news about few linkups but it just didn't catch attention. It took a BBB for everyone to finally even talk about Anushka. Suddenly she is hobnobbing with the best in the industry and is confident of her abilities because the likes of Shabana Azmi and Raju Hirani called up to appreciate her performance.

Keeping the whole pretentiousness of KJo and KWK aside, he took Deepika and Sonam's (two non-actors according to many here) name for future superstars not the hit machine Anushka's. That shows the industry's attitude. Bollywood has stars first and actors later. Anushka is almost there now. As someone mentioned above, industry is not always kind to outsiders but if she has tremendous potential then of course usko 7 khoon maaf.
