For starters, I'm told that Deepika Padukone had initially declined to sign up for Rajnikanth's next film, Rana. Reason: Her date diary this year is too choc-a-bloc to accommodate a film, reveals Sher Lock Holmes. However, the South Indian legend was keen to pair up with Padukone.

More so after she couldn't fit Robot in her busy date diary when it was offered to her.

Rajni sir is believed to have expressed his eagerness to sign her on, saying that he couldn't imagine any other heroine in Rana. He even asked for Deepi's date diary so he could rework the shoot to suit her availability!
