What is so special about Yash Raj films?
Well... They introduced Switzerland to India....
Now Indians throng Switzerland and contribute largely to Swiss economy....
In short... YRF made Swiss a rich country.... 😆

the question should wat was than wat is. nowdays yash raj is like any other home production to me before they were special who created family based movies or great love stories but nowdays they only care about publicity n wat works. i don't blame them but their classics were the best n they don't made them anymore like there was a magic in their movies which made u watch them over n over again.

They used to be good around the time of Fanaa and Hum Tum but then they started to rely more on their musical numbers to make things dramatic and the actors instead of the stories

I remember watching the promo for Ta Ra Rum Pum and thought wow, this looks like such a dramatic film to watch! Then I saw it and was like, wow what a stupid story

The only reason RBNDJ worked was because of SRK-factor otherwise the movie was made in such a way that it seemed like a 90s film...It had such a weak storyline

And they also started relying on Rani Mukherji even when it became obvious that no one wanted to watch her in another YRF film

soo true RBNDJ worked only because of srk n they also rely on star power these days if some actor is a hit like they use his name in the movie to get publicity n all. i feel bad for rani it really messed up her career with all the flops n she is one of the best actresses bollywood has.

If we take the entire Chopra clan then many hits/revenue come from their family.

B.R. Chopra, Yash Chopra, Vinod Chopra and Hiroo Johar are siblings. Ravi Chopra, Aditya Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Karan Johar are cousins. Then they have many extended relatives in the industry.

they used to be good as long as yash chopra was directing till about the early 90's....as far as im concerned...lamhe was their last "GOOD" film...then maybe chak de and rocket singh...thats abt it..yash chopra previously produced and directed wonderful movies like waqt, deewar, kabhie kahie, silsila, lamhe, daag, darr etc....very entertaining and bold stuff for the time periods they were made in (girl falling in love with a man who once loved her mother, infidelity, illegitimate children, pshychotic lover etc)...but after DDLJ, they stuck to stupid candyflosses with heart shaped ballons and maple leaves flying around in the name of romance...
yash chopra was brilliant when it came to romance and drama, in his earlier movies....now his movies seem more and more juvinille by the day..DTPH, Veer zaara, mohobbatein, RNBDJ were terrible romances......he should get back to direction and chose something bold again to recreate the same magic...
