Akshay to go through 'intense sitting' for OUATIM2

Milan Luthria isn't taking it easy at all. For the sequel to his 2010 hit ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, he is planning some intense preparation sessions with his cast members. Even though for the film he has managed to rope in someone as experienced as Akshay Kumar, Milan isn't shying away from having some intense sittings with the actor.
"This is something that I do with all my actors, whether they are experienced or someone new to the business. I can't just go on the sets and then start giving instructions to actors. Also, I don't believe in having a workshop just before the shoot of the film commences. For me, it is an organic process to prepare an actor for the role. I have plans to do the same with Akshay as well," says Milan.
Before Akshay, Milan has worked with a variety of top actors ranging from Ajay Devgan (ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, KACHCHE DHAAGE), Amitabh Bachchan & Sanjay Dutt (DEEWAR - LET'S BRING OUR HEROES HOME) and Nana Patekar (TAXI NO. 9211, HAT TRICK). However as per the film maker, he has always sat down with each of them individually weeks before the camera actually starts rolling.
"That always helps because all doubts around how to approach the character, it's background, it's thought process, it's strengths and weaknesses get covered much before an actor reports on the sets", explains Milan, "Now as I talk to you, I am also having such sessions with Vidya (Balan) for THE DIRTY PICTURE. For the character of Silk Smitha that she has to portray, it is very much required."
ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI 2 goes on floors this Diwali and is aiming at Summer 2012 release.
