DIDJA GET IT? Viveik explains the finer points to Akshay
Sunday evening at Ashish Balram Nagpal's Art Gallery in Juhu, Pooja Bhatt and Akshay Kumar were seen collecting cash and cheques as they auctioned off paintings.

Part of the proceeds will go to the Yashodhara Oberoi Foundation run by Viveik Anand Oberoi for the various causes that it supports, including heart surgery for poor children and women's empowerment.

Titled Art Jalsaa, the exhibition had several paintings in different mediums, of varied shapes and sizes, on sale at a flat price of Rs 11,000.

As art aficionados made a beeline for the gallery, dealer Nagpal informs, "We wanted to create an awareness of art having a fantastic investment possibilities. The charity part naturally follows, as Viveik and I have worked out this option of art meeting charity."

Adds Oberoi, "It is a pleasure to be associated with such a programme as it promotes two things that are very dear to my heart — art and charity. I like to call it Art for Hearts, as part of the proceeds collected will be donated for a cause."

The celebrity gang with a penchant for art also included Onjolee Nair, Kashmera Shah and Sanjit Bedi. We hear Pooja Bhatt is an avid collector and has already booked a few paintings that will grace her drawing room.
When asked about the other star buys, Nagpal says, "They have all promised to come back and make their individual buys."
