Kashmera Shah is now back in action with her home production My Bollywood Bride directed by her husband Brad Leisterman. Starring opposite Kashmera is Hollywood actor Jason Lewis (of Sex and The City fame). "It's a romantic film about a boy and a girl who fight and live together. I have written the script and even sung a rap number in the film," she says. Did she take music lessons for the song? "No, it's a rap number. Actually, I come from a musical family. My grandmother and mother are both singers. I am the only one who can't sing. I just don't have a voice for it," she adds. She will now be seen in a pivotal role in Pooja Bhatt's Holiday. "For the moment it's only Holiday. I don't want to discuss anything else. As for the rumours that I quit the industry after Murder, let me clarify that I did two films after that," she asserts. She was seen in Farookh Siddiqui's Revati in a very deglamourised role, that of a ragpicker. "It was during the course of this film that Pooja Bhatt offered me Holiday. I was thrilled and took Pooja to see Revati. She was impressed," says Kashmera. The film revolves around a beautiful girl who has everything in life but is insecure. She has a childhood friend (Dino Morea) who helps her overcome her insecurities. "I am basically a dancer in the film. Pooja took great care to ensure that all her artistes were trained in tango and salsa before starting the film. We were trained from April to October by Sandip Soparkar," says Kashmera. |
