If you notice the pattern of these beauty pagents, most of the winners in recent years have been from developing economies, where these cosmetic giants were hoping to make an entry and create a market! Hence, there was a phase when contestants from Latin American countries won in continuation!

Then came the phase of Asian winners...who despite the lack of height (in comparison to girls from the Western world) which is such a huge requise for such pagents, still won the titles (Ofcourse, saying that they want to help the poor and needy of the world also helps, I suppose😆) in continuation!

If you look at the pattern over the years, you will see that girls from a particular geographical region keep winning one title over the other and only once in a while, will there be a winner from Western Countries!

Not saying that Indian / Asian women are not beautiful and they don't deserve the title, but a lot of economics goes into such contests and it is not as simple as giving a title to a deserving girl!

PS : Just for example...when Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai won the titles of Ms. Universe and Ms. World, the sales of Femina Magazine quadrapled in just a few weeks and so did the sale of Lakme cosmetics...both of them sponsors of Ms. India Pagent! In the following few years, there was a record breaking number of Indian girls winning the title or atleast being in the top 10.....after almost 5 decades of being nowhere in the beauty map! That was also the time, when India embraced Globalization and opened its market to free economy! See the connection?

I find Priyanka really beautiful. She has such a beautiful, radiant smile which reaches her eyes, and her eyes are so expressive and lovely! She is one of the most beautiful women in the world. And she has got the brains. So yeah, I made a good choice. :)

Hey Desu,

Many of us are going through stressful times and it's exam time for many so we let out our frustrations out on these threads. So celebrities (and forum members as well) have to bear the brunt of our anger. Reading jokes about celebs and making catty comments about them de-stresses me like nothing else in the world 😳. I realized that I spend the most time on I.F during my exams and also make the bitchiest comments during these times. I don't hate Kareena or anyone else for that matter, I just enjoy being catty. So I'm sorry if I hurt you or anyone else on these forums. 😳
