He Wrote - "...not many among you would be able to say what these 13 year olds were able to say in 1930 - 'we were fighting for the freedom of our nation...'"
Read Big B's Blog
This isn't the first time has expressed his concern over his son's film. Last time He had issues with the editing department with his son's Flopped flick Raavan, Which according to him, was solely responsible for the debacle of the film.

his exact comments were...
But what shocked me was a comment by Deepa Gehlot in her review of the film in the Afternoon, where she stated that the story or the film was 'not relevant in todays times' !! Deepa is a senior journalist and one that has been decorated if I am not mistaken, by institutions of repute, for her journalistic skill and accumen. For her to have made such a comment in print for public consumption is indeed most distressing. Deepa Gehlot, the fact that you have had the freedom to write what you did, is indeed the most 'relevant' factor of KHJJS. Young children in their 13's and 14's gave up their lives so you Deepa Gehlot, could become a journalist in free India. And you say the story is not 'relevant' ??

I am just numbed beyond anything to say more ! I leave it to the EF to comment on it. You may not like the film, but how can you dislike the cause. Young men and women gave up their lives so we could be free from being a slave to a foreigner. What was Deepa trying to suggest ? That had the film been made while we were still under foreign rule, it would have been 'relevant' ???

so more towards someone's review... in which case, i agree with him... however, i have not read the review in question... and i skimmed over amit ji's blog... i think a lot of people become sensitive specially when issues about freedom fighters and the martyrs of our country is considered...
however, i think in present era, a lot of people who struggle on a daily basis to provide for their families are just as worthy as any freedom fighter...!!

I read the entire blog well I was bored anyways he doesnt say anywhere in the blog that he is mad about what criticism Abhi is getting but how some critics write in a way to be the voice of the public which is wrong & I agree with him an individual opinion should be that individuals opinion ppl have different taste in films & different perspective he was just showing them a different perspective to the film, I dont see anything wrong in that.

Can't believe I am supporting Amitji, but nowhere in this article or in his blog does he criticize anyone criticizing his son!
Or did I miss anything?😕

Nukta,
I totally agree with you on what you wrote! Even earlier, there was a comment by Komal Nahta in his review that 'No one had heard about Surjya Sen'! I was like W*H????????
How can people, that too journalists, with such credentials pass comments likes these?
Just because it is more than 60 years of our Independence does not take away the sacrifice or importance of those who fought for us at that time! How can the Indian Struggle for Independence ever become irrelevant? Either today or hundred years from now?
KHJJK isn't the best film to be made on the subject, but I respect Ashutosh and his team for having the dare to work on it and present it to the few people who do appreciate such movies!

somewhere down the line...he is irrked...defintely...
and the reason of people ignoring the film.. becoz
he never said anything abt DUS, BLUFFMASTER, BNB OR SARKAR becoz they all were successful, but now he can't stand the failure of his son's movies...
its my advise he shuld take a chill pilll and avoid such stuff...and take everything positvely

If I was Abhishek or Ranbir, I would be highly humiliated by being treated like a baby in front of the entire world. And honestly, I don't think I even blame the dads. I blame the sons for not having enough balls to stand up to their fathers and tell them to stop interfering/taking control of their life. Freaking irritating.

Innit it is annoying.🤣
