Bhandarkar drops his film with Kareena Kapoor as she was suggesting too many changes in the script

Fed up with the changes Kareena Kapoor was constanty suggesting for the script, Madhur Bhandarkar has now shelved his film Heroine. Kareena, who apparently thought her role in the film was a bit too controversial, kept insisting it be altered.

Madhur refused to change the script but Kareena wouldn't budge either. Finally, Madhur dropped the idea of making the film.

Grapevine has it that Kareena was not keen to sign Heroine since the film is loosely based on the life of Marilyn Monroe, who was reportedly involved with both the Kennedy brothers, who were married at the time. Given her own relationship with Saif Ali Khan, who has been married earlier, Kareena seemingly wanted to stay away from this role.

You wonder if Madhur approached any other actresses for the role, as reported earlier. Says a source, "No. Madhur approached only Kareena. She kept him waiting for six months. Now, Madhur has completely lost interest in the film."

The decision to shelve Heroine was apparently taken last week. "It was not an easy decision. There was a lot of 'yes' and 'no' between Madhur and his team. However, they finally decided to do away with it," says the source.

Though Bhandarkar remained unavailable for comment, he has apparently taken to writing a male-dominated script that he will work on after Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji. Tired of women and their nakhraas, eh Madhur?

Thats so rude of Kareena that she did that. Madhur has always made her his first choice. I'm so glad Priyanka did Fashion and I hope this goes to someone else as well.

Umm, how is kareena being rude? She was trying to accomodate his film. And how was she supposed to commit her dates to his project when he didnt evne have a script ready? You cant expect kareena to start refusing movies just coz madhur narrated an idea to her.

All this time, both of them have maintained that he doesnt hve a script ready. He just got her interested in the project by narrating a general idea nd she agreed that she'd do it. But till now he doenst have the script ready, so what is she supposed to do?

She has scripts coming her way on a daily basis.

I hope to see the madhur kareena combo soon, but it seems the movie is shelved at the moment.

And seriously, if madhur had a script ready, he woudl have already got another actress on board. The fact that he's "lost interest" in the project totally implies that it was an idea he was excited ot work on IF kareena was on board.

Desu what I feel is Madhur conceptualised the movie with Kareena in mind. She would have fitted the role to the T.

But unfortunately with the script not being ready and bcoz of her busy schedule next year she cannot wait for this one.

Only other person who could have fitted this intense and bold role was PC. But after Fashion I am sure they wanted a break from each other.

So looks like for now he has dropped the idea.

well...if madhur is not excited anymore abt his idea, then its better that the project is shelved. Would save us the trauma of watching him blow his trumpets about making "realistic cinema" and stuffing a particular field of profession with stereotypes. *yawn*

Yeah it did seem Madur was just too excited to work with bebo and he mentioned the film to her without finalizing the script.

PS this all seems too fishy though. I think Madur is busy with another film. When does he have the time to think about Heroine and decide to do it. I think its another one of those fake news. And it was just recent that he came out talking about how Aish wasn't approached for the film. He didn't say anything about not doing Heroine.
