yeh but siddharth anand rings a huge alarm bell in my head...all his previous muvies were flat, uni-dimensional, uninteresting and jus plain silly...i dunt think hes gonna make anything drastically different now...half the jokes in salaam namste were taken from F.R.I.E.N.D.S or email forward messages...his muvies r too pretentious and wannabe "cool" which is why im skeptical abt AA...

Hmm, I didn't like his Salaam namaste.. but i loved Javed Jaafri's character in that movie.. he was hilarious..SN has a huge fan following tho.. Loved Tara ra rum pum.. Saif and rani were adorable in it.. they always show US in glam light.. i loved how they showed poverty in us in this movie.. some of the ideas and scenes were very original.. i loved BAH.. too.. it was a good one time watch.. relationships were shown in somewhat mature way.. it was a cool movie..after his filmography i would say SA is pretty decent atleast in my eyes.

^^thts fine..its ur opinion and i respect that. Even i liked Javed Jafri in SN...perhaps the only thing i liked in the movie apart from the songs...

But i disagree with the fact that tararumpum showed poverty in a matured way. The very notion of "poverty" depicted in the movie was artificial and even offensive according to me...
wht grated to me abt the movie was that the family went from being super rich to a regular middle class family. They went from having a glamorous lifestyle to having an ordinary one, which was supposedly "tragic" when in reality, they still had jobs and were capable of supporting themselves. The movie projected anything less than "super rich" as the most terrible thing ever, which is downright stupid and offensive. Its actually pretty insulting to the Indians who actually struggle in abroad to make ends meet.

^^ No they showed a pretty real picture.. like if you do a hourly wage job of delivering pizzas or working in a fast food restaurant then you can have that lifestyle abroad.. for them thats poor... middle class is office/corporate jobs.. the poorest is life if you are really a lazy bum and don't do any job... and you are homeless.. Otherwise anyone who is ready to do regular shift work.. can afford that lifestyle.. and they don't classify it to be in the middle class bracket.

@ladygaga well ive lived in new york and in Australia and here, poverty means living entirely on benefits and nothing else. As far as i saw, rani and saif still had respectable, normal jobs and they could afford food, fashionable clothing, shelter and school fees for their kids (maybe not a posh school, but a regular one they could). They had a steady source of income, and yet, the movie showed them to be in terrible state whereas, there are people living abroad in worse conditions. And anywayz, i didnt find the movie to be that original either...several aspects were taken from Days of Thunder, Cinderella Man and Life is Beautiful.

But lets just agree to disagree...u like the movie and i dont. simple 😊

Aakrosh for me all the way! I love Ajay and he always makes good movies! And plus the promo looked super intense and good! At least when I watch the actors in Aakrosh I don't have to cringe at their acting! ;)

Oh I'm a bit wary of Siddharth Anand as well. I didn't like SN as much...but I thought BAH was a fun time pass. I'm pretty sure AA won't be anything wow...but I'm hoping it's still entertaining. I've been craving a bollywood romcom, and was totally disppointed with IHLS. So I HOPE this one is better.

If anything, at least the songs and RKPC's chemistry will be a delight to watch.

yeh aakrosh i really wanna see...i like both ajay and akshay not because they r gr8 actors (they have had their share of nonsense performances), but because they are so low-profile and let their work speak for themselves. i hope priyadarshan wouldnt dissapoint with aakrosh...i loved all his movies upto Hera Pheri...after that he just went bizarre with comedies.

Well I don't really think much of Siddharth as a director but his movies are a fun one-time watch usually. So I'm hoping for the same from AA, but hopefully better. And I'm a sucker for rom-coms. There hasn't been a good romantic movie since JTYJN.
