Laughter is the mantra

We only knew 'Laughter is the best medicine'. But now the adage changes to 'Laughter is the best mantra'. After the shinning welcome that each comedy film is meeting at the box office – the film makers and audience has started considering it as a formula that will never fail. This year without falling short, the comedy films have proved to be a garner so far. The biggest hits of the year are all lighthearted comedy film, changing the face of cinema in the days to come. 'No Entry' is the biggest Bollywood hit of the year 2005.

The Bollywood producers are catching fast with the change and are taking comedy films seriously. This is the reason we see more and more comedy films pouring in the box-office like rain. 'Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya', 'Bunty Aur Babli' and 'No Entry' all created hungama. The recent ones 'Garam Masala' and 'Deewane Hue Pagal' are also emerging successful. The audience can be seen flocking the theatres when a comedy film releases in hope to fetch a good laughing time with it.

Many directors have also changed with the time to make cinema that people demands. Vikram Bhatt, Anees Bazmee and Indra Kumar who have been so far associated with serious films are venturing into laughathons. After the stupendous success of 'No Entry', Anees Bazmee is coming next with 'Welcome', another comedy film starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead. Indra Kumar is also venturing to his next comic direction 'Pyare Mohan' after proving his mettle with 'Masti'. Apart from them the other comedy films to watch for in the days to come are Antara Mali's 'Mr. Ya Miss' and Sujoy Ghosh's 'Home Delivery'.

It's laughter and more laughter all the way to the theatres!
