Why try to parade around the self righteousness of a person. I was not the one who brought in her charity work. I already said that I wouldn't judge a person based on that, since I don't even know. Yet people assume that I am implying 'if you do charity, then you are a good human being, otherwise you are not'. 😡

I'd still call her overrated, because all the hype does not reflect her body of work. You brought in Rani as an example. Her share of great perfromances (in numbers) exceeds that of Priyanka, even if she may not have achieved success sooner.

With that in question, Katrina trumps over Priyanka, because even she has a performance, that critics did rave about, namely New York as well as Namaste London, and her career graph and number of hits far exceeds that of Priyanka. Going by your logic, she also deserves all the accolodes and attention that come her way. 😃

Actually, I count the number of performaces that are worthy of remembrance. Unfortunately, Priyanka falls short in that department.

See, my opinion vastly differs here from yours. I really don't think Rani is all that and a bag of chips. She can act decently when the need arises (Yuva and say, even Veer-Zaara) but she is overrated in that her acting prowess is often elevated. I thought that she was utterly unconvincing in Black as the deaf, dumb and blind girl, which is touted by many to be her career-defining role. Thereafter, most of her performances have been said to be exceptional, when really any other decent actress would deliver just as well. For instance, her performance in BnB where both she and Abhishek over-acted as though the world was about to end was heralded by many to be great. So, in my opinion, her acting abilities are over-stated in that no matter how poorly she acts, it is typically venerated - for example, DBH or even KANK. I presume it is simply a difference in opinion. *shrugs*

On Katrina - I don't think she's even rated. Critics and people alike usually deem her to be a non-actress so the question of her being over-rated is rather superfluous. Furthere more, there used to be a fair few comments that claimed she rides on the coat-tails of Akshay and Salman. I've yet to read an article by a critic (read not a trade analyst like T. Adarsh) that praises her acting mettle in the film. The attention she garners is usually for her looks and I think that's a fair deal - she is pretty. As for the accolades, no I don't think she deserves them based purely on acting merit but she's got to be doing something right. What that something is eludes me completely but there has to be something seeing as she is still employed and not fired.
