Posters of Phoonk 2 and The Chaser - same same but different?

January 18, 2010

Many times our filmmakers have been accused of lifting story ideas from the West. Some filmmakers on the other hand do not copy story ideas but instead take serious "inspiration" from film posters of foreign films while designing their own movie poster.

Recently, one of the posters of the Ajay Devgn-Konkona Sen- Paresh Rawal starrer Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge bore an uncanny resemblance to the poster of the Robin Williams flick License To Wed and now yet another Bollywood film seems to have been heavily influenced by the poster of a foreign flick.

The film in question is RGV's Phoonk 2 (directed by Milind Gadagkar) whose first look poster seems very similar to that of the Korean flick The Chaser. Check out the two images and you will now what we are talking. If this trend continues, the day won't be far when our filmmakers will have to face the wrath of foreign filmmakers for not just copying story ideas but even lifting movie posters.
