Is there a category for 'Best Story' award also? I am confused...because there are two categories of awards that goes for the story of the movie and that is for Best 'Adapted' or 'Original' Screenplay awards!

At least this is what happens in the Oscars and Golden Globesand other Internationally recognized award functions! Authors are not nominated for any awards, unless they are 'officially' involved in either the script writing or screenplay writing! For eg. Simon Beaufoy got an award for 'Best Adapted Screenplay' for Slumdog Millionaire and Dustin Lance Black got an award for 'Best Original Screenplay' for the movie 'Milk'.

Our very localized Filmfare Awards does has two categories...Best Story and Best Screenplay! So god knows who is going to win what? Considering how much Filmfare likes to please everyone, they will probably invent a special category and make sure that everyone from Hirani, to Joshi to Bhagat get their Filmfare Lady to take home and be happy!😆

Though I do hope that both Chetan Bhagat and Hirani and Group can do better than fight for who will win awards at third rate award functions like Filmfare, which by now, every child in this country knows, is a sold out award ceremony, initiated to massage the ego's of a chosen few!

The awards which have some sort of a standing in India are the National Awards that are given out by the Government and they have no such category as either a story or screenplay! So poor Vidhu won't have a chance to run towards the stage and kick down any over the hill minister and snatch his award! 😆

Thank you Maya, for explaining it in the simplest of terms. I fail to understand HOW VVC and team gave credit to Raju and Abhijat for story. Chetan can so easily sue them. And obviously he didnt cry foul over this before it's release because he didnt know they gave themselves credit for story until he SAW THE MOVIE. It's as simple as that.

Check out any movie Kaminey, Maqbool, Slumdog or any english movie which is based on a novel. There are screenplay credits with the writers who adapt the novel but no story credits to them. Vishal said he made a lot of changes in Kaminey, but still gave credit that it's losely based on Cajetan Boy, and thus there were NO story credits. Only screenplay credits.

CB is lier he is crook he want to sell his book he know now 3I is supper hit why not i will cash because he is already collect cash with VVC but this stupid forget public knows every thing his book and film 90% diffrent if he was not happy with VVC why not he open up on 23DEC when he saw film these kind things shows CB how much he hungry for fame but he lost all respect as writer i will not read again his books any more F**K CB
