katrina didnt invent kaif from her own...she was always katrina kaif if v see technically as her father was mohd kaif...so generally a child adopts fathers name n hence she was always katrina kaif but as her father wasnt there n her mom rose her she adopted her mom's last name but later changed it back to her own..
