To those whom were offended by that remark, I apologise, but the word "faggot" historically hasn't been considered offensive in the UK, cigarettes are referred to as "fags" here..it's also commonly used as a generic cuss word along the lines of "moron/douchebag" etc (which is how I intended it) rather than a derogatory reference to homosexuals, the connotation which originates from America.

It was an off-the-cuff remark, and I agree it was inappropriate, so apologies.
